Ear Ache

On Thursday night minutes after daddy left for New Jersey you woke up crying and didn't stop until 2 AM. You thrashed, and cried, and yelled, and kicked and scratched. I tried a bottle, rocking, Pink Piggie, Benadryl, putting you on the couch, on the ground, in the pack-n-play, in your crib. Nothing. Finally I put Milo in my bed—you laid on the floor of your room and hit your little head against the floor. I scooped you up and put you in your crib and just shut the door. I didn't know what else to do. You woke up crying again at 6 and we spent a few hours on the couch downstairs. We took Milo to school, the grocery store, and music class before ending up at the doctor at 11:20 AM. We both decided that your behavior was not normal. She checked your ear—to much wax! Checked your other ear—fine. Checked your mouth—nothing to bad (for your last few teeth.) Listened to your breath. She dug out some ear wax, dug some more and more ... and finally: EAR INFECTION! Mommy was actually happy that it's something we can fix and no wonder you were in so much pain! We got our Amoxicillin and Motrin and you've been sleeping like a baby ever since.
