Turkey

We had Thanksgiving dinner with grandma and poppy, Aunt Beth, Coco Glenn, Charlie, Alana, Noah and all their parents and grandparents ... you liked the turkey ("mmmm yummy"), the rolls, playing with the kids—including future wife Alana. (A mom can dream.)

Haircut #4

You would have thought we were torturing you! But in the end, as usual, Leah did a fabulous job. And we could see your handsome face again. (Top: after // Below: before)

Coco Glenn

Milo has taken to calling his Uncle Glenn—Coco Glenn. It makes us crack up. We assume it's because uncle is just to hard to say!

Snow Day/Sick Day

Well, looks like daddy gave you his stomach virus and then skipped town. Well, technically he is in Pittsburgh for work—but he missed all the fun stuff. Mommy got a text at work that Milo was not feeling well. By the time I picked you up, you had thrown-up twice and then once more before I even got you in the house. (It is very hard to see my little bunny sick and crying.) We had a rough night - as the illness eventually moved south. We walked to Safeway this morning to get you juice and when we came outside "SNOW" you said! And in fact, we're having our first snow. It's not sticking, but still coming down at a pretty steady rate. Not a bad day to be home in our warm house! (And daddy is on his way home.)

Boobies

Tonight you put your hand down my shirt and said "boobies." Then you cracked up and said boobies boobies boobies over and over again. What are they talking about on Sesame Street?

You have great aunts

Guilty

Of letting you watch way to much Diego. Simply because I love to hear you sing the theme song.

Adventures in Babysitting

On Friday, daddy surprised mommy and said he was getting a babysitter Saturday so we could go to a movie. It was Anna's friend Carolina. She was lovely and super nice. You were a little wary at first and daddy reminded you that she was a friend of Anna and mommy reminded you that she had watched Marin. Mommy brought out a train set and you were very happy to play. When we left, you actually came to the door, waved and said, "Buh-bye mommy. Buh-bye daddy." It was wonderful. You're such a big boy now. And it was nice to see how well you did with someone other than your usual crew (Anna, grandma & poppy.) When we got home you were sound asleep. Carolina said you were a good boy. You ate your whole dinner. And wanted to hold her hand and rub her fingers (your thing) before you went to sleep ... Thank you for letting mommy & daddy have an enjoyable evening out.

What You Say

My Self
Help You (Which really means, help me.)
Yeah, yeah, OK, OK

The Replacements

Dragon? Dinosaur? No clue. But Milo really likes them. He makes them go "rrrooooooooaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr." We found them Friday night. So, for now—they'll do.

Slippers

Last December while in NYC, we stumbled upon a holiday craft fair in Columbus Circle. We bought you slipper socks made with a striped velour material and a non-slip bottom. Little did we know they would become your favorite thing EVER. You have worn them to bed every night since that day. Unfortunately, the socks have not grown at the same rate as your foot. The area around the toes started to stretch and fray and a few days ago one of your toes finally broke through. "Toe" you showed me the other day. The problem? We have no idea where they came from! There is no label and we can't remember the name of the little company. So, now we're on a hunt for a new pair of slipper socks you like as much.

Yucky

What you call my belly button. You like to pick up my shirt, ignore the baby, insert your finger into my belly button and say, "Yucky. Yucky. Yucky." At this point in my pregnancy, I would have to agree.

Rock the Vote

Anna is off this week, so mommy & daddy took Milo & Marin to vote today. (Eric watched you both yesterday where you took a 3 1/2 hour nap!!) Even though you had no idea what was going on & were way more interested in the playground outside—we thought it was important for you to say you went to the polls to help us vote for our next president! Go Obama!

30 weeks

Baby D - It's hard to believe you'll be here in about 10 weeks! Where has the time gone? You are kicking and squirming like a champ. I'm trying to remember how big I felt with your brother. I think I'm carrying you the same—which is another reason I think BOY! We bought some newborn outfits this weekend and it's hard to remember having a baby so small. Your brother is so independent, it's going to be interesting having someone who is so dependent. I'm looking forward to putting you somewhere & you staying there! Mommy failed her 1 hr. glucose test—but luckily passed the 3-hour test! We go back to the doctor on Monday. I can't believe we're up to the every two week appointment. Can't wait to see your gorgeous face. Love, Mommy

Milo's 2nd Birthday Part 2

Milo's 2nd Birthday

WHEN: Sunday, October 26th
WHERE: Clark's Elioak Pumpkin Farm
WHO: All your little friends

Halloween

Meeshy - we spent Halloween 2008 in Frederick at grandma and poppy's house. Your friends Mason and Liam came over to go trick-or-treating with you. At first you were a little apprehensive/confused about the concept. But soon you caught on! Everyone thought you looked super cute in your pirate costume. You liked to go up to the door, take the candy out of their hand and put it in your bucket (Elmo head) "my self," and say "tank ewe." There was one house that was extra scary—but the owner took off his spooky mask so you could see he was just a normal guy ... and led you up to the porch to get your candy. Mason was dressed as a red Power Ranger and Liam was a freaking adorable sushi roll. Everyone stayed after for dinner—and candy.

24m

On Halloween, you had your 24 month check-up with Dr. Winkelstein. You wore your pirate costume.

Here are your stats: 27 lbs. 10 oz., 34 1/2 inches long and your head circumference is 48.2 cm. Dr. W said you are in the 25th-50th percentile and she said that was great.

We talked about a lot of things: you being a picky eater (normal she says,) your tantrums (she recommended "1,2,3 Magic",) how great you are at forming sentences ("Mamma, sit here,") your sensitive skin (sorry, my fault,) and the new baby coming.

She said we shouldn't rush you out of your crib—rush I'll be happy if you're in there until you're five! Ohh, and your nose picking! She said it was normal too! You've found holes and your fingers fit inside! You also got the OK to go to 1% milk, peanut butter, and shellfish!

You were a very brave boy—especially since you had to get two shots and your blood drawn.

We didn't talk about the bottle or nanny. Though she totally knew.

Mino Diamond

On your birthday daddy asked what your name was. You answered: Mino Diamond.

No Binny, No.

You now call Finley - Binny. You love to give him a "treat"—which involves you calling "BINNY" over and then screaming and running from him, while the poor dog sits there confused. Also, you get very annoyed when Finley sits near your highchair. "No Binny, no," you tell him. But then drop food for him anyway.
