How You Roll

Sugar Shock

Mommy got an e-mail from Chase Sterling's mom: "Chase and Milo were together at Montessori until I pulled her out in December. She's been asking about him since then and I finally told her I would get in touch with you!" Who knew that kids ask about you. You never talk about anyone (well, other than the obvious Marin and Gracie Pendell Jones.) So, off we went to Chase's party. Parking was still a nightmare but it was nice to be out of the house. You hearted her mini kitchen. Ate a lot of the brownies we baked. And ignored most of the kids. On Monday we went to Whole Foods to make chocolate covered strawberries. GPJ was there. You both consumed about 60 pounds of chocolate and maybe some berries too.

Valentine's Day 2010

Winter Olympics 2022?

We went to the DBFA Ice Skating Party. You loved it so much. Days later you said, "Mommy, remember when I skated?" I was so impressed that you could balance and walk on the skates—though looking at the pictures I don't know if you actually skated. It was more of a dragging.

Snowmageddon 2010 Part Deux

Well, you'll get to tell your kids you were alive for the biggest combined snow storm in Baltimore's history—at one point Baltimore had more snow than other other city in the country. This second storm was more harsh than the first including high winds. But Meeshy you still went outside and played and we found ourselves redigging what we had just undug earlier in the week.

34

It was pretty freaking balmy last year when mommy turned 33—and this year—well, mommy got a snow day for her birthday. We made pancakes, hiked to the square for lunch and had butterscotch pudding for dessert. I'll never forget my snowy snowy 34th birthday.

INGLORIOUS BLIZZARD

Snow overload.

I Gotta Pee

Tonight on the way home (daddy picked you up from school and me up from work), we were s-l-o-w-l-y driving home in the start of our second blizzard and you HAD TO PEE. And first we said to hold it. I GOTTA PEE. And then I asked if you wanted to pee in a bottle. I GOTTA PEE. Then I said you could just pee in your pants and we would change you as soon we got home. And you said I GOTTA PEE. So I jumped out of the car and ran into a bar/restaurant at Broadway & Aliceanna and I stripped off your snow suit and jacket and pants and held you over the toilet and aimed you ... and then quickly redressed you and grabbed you in my arms and we took off along Aliceanna looking for daddy ... who had gone about two blocks. Ahh, mommyhood.
