Baby D @ 36 Weeks

You appear to still be head down—which is a good way to be if you plan on entering the world in the next few weeks. When mommy left her appointment on Monday a lady (who obviously has not been pregnant) said, "Must be two, right?" This lady had no clue what it takes to cook an eight pound baby, so we just smiled and walked on. Mommy now starts her weekly appointments and life has entered the before January 13th/after January 13th phase. We have some pacifiers (dare we go down that road again) and bottles and a stroller (thank you grandma & poppy) and car seat ... so, we are pretty much ready. And mommy is trying to enjoy her last few weeks of sleep. She knows what the future holds.

Baby = Cake

Mommy also got a cake and very wonderful gift at a surprise work shower. They did not hold it against mommy that they held her a baby party about two years ago too.

Mommy-to-be Tea

Aunt Beth threw mommy a to-be tea when we were home in Frederick for Thanksgiving. It was a nice way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon. The Frederick crew was: Aunt Beth, grandma, Paula, Amy, Jenny, Michelle (and Liam) and Meredith. Mommy even swiped Aunt Beth's tea cup because it was the prettiest one at the table. And it was my day.

Milo Diamond AKA Michael Phelps

Messh - Today in swimming you swam with the noodle ALL BY YOURSELF! It was amazing. You kicked and used your arms and swam after your pool toy under daddy's watchful eye. You also went under the water and blew bubbles and jumped off the side of the pool (Humpty Dumpty) into daddy's arms. It's amazing how much you have progressed.

Bye bye ba-ba

So, yesterday we went cold turkey with Milo. No more ba-ba's (bottle) only "big boy cups." He was not as into it as we were. There have been tears and negotiations. All bottles have been sent to the babies that need them. Milo did not want to use his new special big boy Diego cup—but has been using his Elmo sippy cup. We decided it needed to be all or nothing. Three bottles or no bottles. Milo is such a big boy now that the bottle just seems silly. It's a security blanket. He is perfectly capable of drinking out of any cup. I do miss the morning snuggle in bed with Milo and bottle. However, his nanny (pacifier) is still around. One step at a time.

Luke

When Milo wants someone to pay attention he says, "Daddy (or mommy or grandma) LUKE." As in LUKE AT ME.

33 Weeks 6 Days

Hey Baby D. Today we heard your heartbeat again. We never get sick of it. Dr. Duke said everything looked good. She thinks you are head down—but we'll know for sure in about two weeks. I can't believe we're going to meet you in six weeks or so. Tonight when I showed your brother my belly he said, "Baby." This is when we start to get curious - what will you look like? Will you have your brother's curly hair? Your mommy's eyes? Your daddy's lips? Daddy is getting very excited. Mommy says, take your time.
